How an electrical contractor uses it
Service addresses saved as work locations
Save the service address as a work location
The office only knows the electrician left the shop. It doesn’t know when they got to the job.
Save the job address in TimeOff Manager. You can require the clock-in to have GPS at that address.
Where each clock-in happened
The GPS location is saved with every clock-in
A customer says nobody showed up.
Each clock-in saves the GPS location. Later, you can open that clock-in in GPS history and see where it happened.
Which electricians are out right now
See who is free when two vans are out
An extra call comes in, and you have to guess who can take it.
The live staff map shows who is clocked in right now, for people who agreed to share their location. It is a different screen from the GPS saved at clock-in.
Miles driven between calls
Log the miles from the shop to the house
Drive time turns into an argument on Friday.
Electricians log each trip in the same account as their timesheet.
Time-off requests waiting for approval
Apprentices request time off in the app
An apprentice asks for time off by texting the journeyman, instead of filling out a paper slip.
The apprentice requests time off in the app, and a manager approves it in the same account.
Approved hours, ready for payroll
TimeOff Manager tracks hours. It doesn’t pay anyone. At the end of the pay period, a manager reviews and approves the hours. Then you download them as an Excel or CSV file and send it to whoever runs payroll: your bookkeeper, your accountant, or your payroll software.
-
Hours are approved first
A manager checks the hours before they go anywhere, so payroll gets real numbers, not guesses from a group text.
-
Overtime is flagged
Extra hours show up on the timesheet, so you can see overtime before you pay it.
-
Excel or CSV
One download your bookkeeper or payroll software can open.
-
Payroll happens elsewhere
TimeOff Manager does not calculate pay, print checks, or file taxes.

-
1
The electrician arrives
The electrician opens the app at the house or the electrical room.
-
2
They clock in
The clock-in saves the GPS location. If the work location has a geofence, they have to be inside it to clock in.
-
3
The office checks the live map
During the shift, the office checks the live staff map to see who is still out. The GPS from the clock-in stays on the time record.
-

Friday: download the hours
Download the hours and mileage as a file. Pay is handled in your payroll software.
It doesn’t send out jobs or write estimates
TimeOff Manager does not assign the next call, write quotes, or track wire and devices. It records clock-ins, drives, and time off.
Also see time tracking software, TimeOff Kiosk, PTO software, and pricing.
Approved time off can sync to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Approved hours can go to QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks.
You can also ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor questions about your account, like who is out next week, through Model Context Protocol.
