How a carpentry crew uses it
Clocking in at the job
Save each remodel as its own place
If the crew clocks in at the shop, you can’t tell which house they framed that day.
Save the job address as a work location. When someone clocks in there, their GPS location is saved.
Where each person clocked in
Make sure they clock in at the job
A clock-in from a driveway across the street doesn’t prove much.
Turn on a geofence for that address. A geofence is a boundary around the job, and clock-ins have to happen inside it.
Mileage trips for the whole crew
Log miles between jobs
When the crew works at two houses in one day, the drive between them usually turns into a round number.
They log the drive in the same app as their hours, and you approve the trip.
The live map on your phone
See who is still on site
Sometimes you only find out the crew left when the homeowner calls.
The live staff map shows who is still clocked in right now. This is separate from the GPS location saved when they clocked in.
Time-off requests waiting for approval
Time off for the shop and the crew
When someone is out sick, it can look like they just forgot to fill out a timesheet.
Staff request time off in the app, and you approve it before Friday, so everyone knows why they were out.
Approved hours, ready for payroll
TimeOff Manager tracks hours. It doesn’t pay anyone. At the end of the pay period, a manager reviews and approves the hours. Then you download them as an Excel or CSV file and send it to whoever runs payroll: your bookkeeper, your accountant, or your payroll software.
-
Hours are approved first
A manager checks the hours before they go anywhere, so payroll gets real numbers, not guesses from a group text.
-
Overtime is flagged
Extra hours show up on the timesheet, so you can see overtime before you pay it.
-
Excel or CSV
One download your bookkeeper or payroll software can open.
-
Payroll happens elsewhere
TimeOff Manager does not calculate pay, print checks, or file taxes.

A typical day on a remodel
-
1
Leave the shop
If the day starts at the shop, the shop is one work location. The remodel is another.
-
2
Clock in at the job
Their GPS location is saved at the job. A geofence only applies if you set one up.
-
3
Move to the next job
They clock in at the next address you saved.
-
4
Download the hours
On Friday, download the hours as a file. Estimates stay in whatever software you already use.
This is not estimating or material takeoff software
TimeOff Manager does not price jobs, list lumber, or draw plans for the remodel. It tracks who clocked in, their time off, and the hours you download for payroll.
Also see time tracking software, TimeOff Kiosk, PTO software, and pricing.
Approved time off can sync to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Approved hours can go to QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks.
You can also ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor questions about your account, like who is out next week, through Model Context Protocol.

Common questions from carpenters
Can the crew clock in at the job instead of the shop?
Yes. Add the remodel as a work location, and they clock in there.
What if we work two jobs in one day?
Save both addresses as work locations. Each clock-in can happen at a different place.
Can apprentices use it too?
Yes, if they are employees on your team in the app. It does not track training hours for a license board.
How much does it cost?
From $15/mo billed annually after a 14-day trial. Starter is $15/mo for 1–20 people, Growth is $25/mo for 21–50, and Scale is $49.99/mo for larger teams.
