How a plant tracks shift attendance
Everyone on the shift
A clock-in tablet where the shift starts
A line lead should not have to clock in twenty people by hand.
Each worker clocks in and out on the tablet kiosk with their own PIN.
Who is expected on each shift
Shift templates for each crew
First shift, second shift, and weekend crews drift away from the paper schedule.
Shift templates and employee schedules show who was expected to work each shift.
When one worker’s shift ends
Automatic clock-out when the shift ends
Someone forgets to clock out and their hours keep running overnight.
You can set a rule that clocks workers out automatically when their shift ends.
Who is off on each crew
Time off across rotating crews
Tracking vacation on a rotating schedule turns the whiteboard into a mess.
Workers request time off in TimeOff Manager. Approved days off show on the team calendar.
The shift on the phone
Track breaks during the shift
A break starts when someone shouts across the floor, and nothing is recorded.
You can turn on break tracking, so breaks are recorded with the hours.
Approved hours, ready for payroll
TimeOff Manager tracks hours. It doesn’t pay anyone. At the end of the pay period, a manager reviews and approves the hours. Then you download them as an Excel or CSV file and send it to whoever runs payroll: your bookkeeper, your accountant, or your payroll software.
-
Hours are approved first
A manager checks the hours before they go anywhere, so payroll gets real numbers, not guesses from a group text.
-
Overtime is flagged
Extra hours show up on the timesheet, so you can see overtime before you pay it.
-
Excel or CSV
One download your bookkeeper or payroll software can open.
-
Payroll happens elsewhere
TimeOff Manager does not calculate pay, print checks, or file taxes.

Send hours at the end of the pay week
Download the hours. Your production system (MES) still runs the line.
This is not a production system
TimeOff Manager does not count output, track scrap, or schedule machines. It tracks shift clock-ins, breaks, time off, and hours you can download for payroll.
Also see time tracking software, TimeOff Kiosk, PTO software, and pricing.
Approved time off can sync to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Approved hours can go to QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks.
You can also ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor questions about your account, like who is out next week, through Model Context Protocol.

Common questions from manufacturers
Can a whole shift use one tablet?
Yes. The tablet kiosk on the floor is shared, and each worker clocks in with their own PIN.
Does it replace our production system (MES)?
No. It does not know about the line, the job, or the part count. It only knows who clocked in.
Can second shift have a different schedule?
Yes. Shift templates and employee schedules can cover more than one shift pattern.
How is a larger plant priced?
Scale is $49.99/mo for 51–1,000 people, after a 14-day trial. Smaller teams use Starter at $15/mo or Growth at $25/mo, billed annually.
