How an HR team uses it
An employee checking their balance
Leave balances without a spreadsheet
Every time someone asks how many days they have left, HR has to work out the number again.
Each employee has a balance based on the leave policy you set, so the number is ready when they ask.
Every request and its status
One approval list instead of email
Time-off requests end up scattered across five different inboxes.
Every request lands in one approval list, where a manager approves or declines it.
Each person’s regular work schedule
Managers can see who is out
Two people book the same week off.
Approved time off shows on the team calendar, so managers can see it.
Public holidays, already loaded
US and Canadian holidays
Your company holidays and the official public holidays don’t always match.
Both can go on the holiday list. US and Canadian public holidays are already loaded.
Everyone in the company
Choose who is an admin
Not everyone should be able to change a leave policy.
Permissions decide who can approve requests and who can change settings.
Approved hours, ready for payroll
TimeOff Manager tracks hours. It doesn’t pay anyone. At the end of the pay period, a manager reviews and approves the hours. Then you download them as an Excel or CSV file and send it to whoever runs payroll: your bookkeeper, your accountant, or your payroll software.
-
Hours are approved first
A manager checks the hours before they go anywhere, so payroll gets real numbers, not guesses from a group text.
-
Overtime is flagged
Extra hours show up on the timesheet, so you can see overtime before you pay it.
-
Excel or CSV
One download your bookkeeper or payroll software can open.
-
Payroll happens elsewhere
TimeOff Manager does not calculate pay, print checks, or file taxes.

What it doesn’t do
TimeOff Manager is not a full HR system. It does not handle benefits enrollment, store a full personnel file, or run payroll. It tracks time off, holidays, schedules, clock-ins, and the hours you download for payroll.

Approved time off can sync to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Approved hours can go to QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks.
You can also ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor questions about your account, like who is out next week, through Model Context Protocol.

Common questions from HR teams
Can each manager approve their own team?
Yes. Approvals follow the permissions you set.
Can HR see balances for the whole company?
Yes. The leave summary shows the whole company. Each employee sees their own balance.
Does the download include hours and leave?
Hours download from the Reports screen. Time off is tracked in the same account, so you don’t have to piece the week together from two systems.
